BEEA Reclaims Her Confidence on Anthemic Single, “No Fears”

Many of us have hobbies and talents from a young age, but some people know deep down that their childhood passions could become something much larger. This is the case for BEEA, a Portuguese artist who has been singing since she was just 3 years old and always known that her dream career was in music. However, she encountered a roadblock that actually made her turn away from this pursuit for a while, which she reflects on in her new single, “No Fears”. “’No Fears’ is about a time in my life where someone made me feel so small and worthless that I ended up not singing for a year. In my mind everything I sang or wrote was simply not good enough, and my confidence was at its lowest point.”

Instrumentally, this track is on the emo-tinged side of pop-punk with a sheen sound from its elegant, modern production. The way the track progresses definitely adds to its impact, namely the addition of a gorgeous piano chord progression in the pre-chorus that makes the first and last chorus hit especially hard. BEEA’s vocals are powerful and sharp throughout, delivering her message of self-affirmation perfectly. “I decided I wanted to write this song as I reminder that I am strong and that I shouldn’t be afraid of chasing my goals.” For the songwriter, “No Fears” was an exercise in processing a negative experience and regaining her confidence. As listeners, we have been gifted with her best song yet.
