Dacian Miron Makes His Solo EP Debut Ft. Kellin Quinn

In 2019, after a five-year hiatus, Dacian Miron, former guitarist of The August Name, returned to the music scene, this time rebranding as a solo artist. Once again Miron brings new music to the table for “New Music Friday” including a track with Sleeping With Sirens’ Kellin Quinn. Today, April 23, “Slightly Mysterious, Somewhat Delirious” produces a powerful scene punch and amazing addition to the “Rawring 20s,” including three new songs and two already slamming singles. Just as the 1920s was a notable decade, the 2020s so far have proven to be quintessential to the scene-- and it’s only 2021!

Starting off one hell of an EP is the first track, “Call it a Hustle Sweetheart” featuring Kellin Quinn. Miron brings the Myspace vibes with this electro-punk bop. Hustling his way into scene stardom, Miron mends together both killer keyboard and grueling guitar melodies. Add on catchy lyrics to an already catchy tune and this song will surely be stuck in your head for the rest of the weekend. As if this track was not already amazing on its own, Kellin Quinn sweeps in with guest vocals as if one was garnishing an already gourmet dish, whipping up the recipe for an absolute earworm.  I quickly “fell into the love of the art” from the very first listen-through and continue to jam this single alone on repeat.

The next track, “The Cure for Sobriety is a Bottle of Jack” demands to be listened to by every scene kid. This track feels like a Fall Out Boy song with intricate lyrics, a killer beat to “dance dance dance” to, and a drum beat to headbang along. Not to mention that perfectly timed dramatic pause halfway through the song had my heart literally skip a beat, too entranced by a good tune. Glazed with a sweet soul vocal technique, I can see why Miron went for the long full-sentence title. I personally hope to see more bands bring back long winding titles, and “The Cure for Sobriety is a Bottle of Jack” turned out to be the cure for my musical craving.

“Night Crawlers Revenge” kicks off with a wolf’s howl, eerily reminding me of the best of Ghost Town. The keys take the lead here until the snare kicks in, driving a track that “feels so good it’ll drive you insane.” Similar to the track beforehand, this song was meant to be danced to at any hour whether it be noon or three AM. While this wraps up the triple decker of new tunes, this is only a taste of the talent to come.

Last year’s drop, “Young Punk, Mr. Rock N Roll” and 2019’s “Feeling Dangerous” close out this bomb EP. Instrumentally, lyrically, and just all together composition-wise I truly found myself whisked away back in time to the good ol’ Myspace days. In fact, “Slightly Mysterious, Somewhat Delirious” deserves to be up with my top releases of the year along with already established favorites such as Architects and Chase Atlantic. If this is just the debut EP for Dacian Miron’s solo work, I can only imagine what the future may hold-- and I very much look forward to it! You can stream “Slightly Mysterious, Somewhat Delirious” on all streaming platforms.
