Patient Sixty-Seven Drop Massive New Single "The Ken Burns Effect”
Patent Sixty-Seven has always been a metalcore band to constantly redefine the lines of the genre when it comes to current emerging bands in the scene. The Australian natives have established their value to the industry with their latest re-release of their 2019 EP Home Truths, including exposing us to a more massive sound with their single "Antithesis" featuring Rory Rodriguez of Dayseeker.
Though the band has always been known for their defiant, progressive, and polished sound, Patient Sixty-Seven is making us re-look at their sound yet again with their latest atmospheric and gritty release, "The Ken Burns Effect." With an assertive, assailing instrumental presence coupled with gorgeous clean and bellicose vocal delivery, Patient Sixty-Seven brings a full-frontal assault of energy in spades and a lively paramount sound that shows maturity and growth since Home Truths. Vocalist Tom Kiely had this to say about the compelling release.
"The Ken Burns Effect is a song we've wanted to release for a while.
As a part of the Imbalance Redux release from last year and the cool response we received from that - we wanted to do a third song to follow up that effort.
We think it shows a heavier side of the band and our growth over the years.
When writing it, I just wanted to speak on the struggle of battling against your own mental health. Putting everything on the line, finding a light at the end of the tunnel, and believing that you'll have the strength to get through to the other side.
It's a song our band is really proud of, and we hope you enjoy it as we get to work on more new music!"
While this is all but a taste of what's to come from the colorful, emotional, and wolfish sounds of the Perth metalcore band, it gives us an exciting window into what we can expect in the year ahead.
