Fieldy Takes Hiatus From Korn

Longtime Korn bassist Fieldy has been asked to leave the band to heal. In a statement on Fieldy's Facebook, he had this to say:

"To all Korn fans worldwide.

The past 6 years I’ve been dealing with some personal issues that at times have caused me to fall back on some of my bad habits and has caused some tension with the people around me. It’s been suggested to me to take some time off to heal. I’m going to respect what was asked of me and take that time. Unfortunately you will not see me on stage with my band.

I will be working towards getting the bad habits out of my system. In the meantime I will be staying creative to keep my mind & soul in a good place. 

I’m thankful for all of your support, patience & understanding as we all have something that we deal with. 

Jonathan, Munky, Ray and Head, I love you and I don’t want to bring any tension or bad vibes to the circle."

This was announced today on June 21st, following news of Korn's 28-date summer US tour with Staind as the supporting act. The 2021 tour comes after Korn was forced to cancel their planned 2020 run with Faith No More due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It's been some time since the original line up of Korn has seen a change like this since 2007 when original drummer David Silveria departed into hiatus and in 2005, when Brian "Head" Welch departed from the band for similar substance abuse resolution. Welch later returned to the band in 2013. The band Korn has not released a statement regarding Fieldy as of yet but stay tuned for an update on the bassists’ status within the band.
