NYXKISS Drops Dark Video For “A Sight For Sore Eyes”

Following up his 2021 debut full-length FRIDAY THE 23RD, NYXKISS (AKA Josh Naujokas) has released the dark new video for “A Sight For Sore Eyes”. His brand of horror-core R&B meets new wave emo rap has become a staple of his sound and imagery, which holds true on this latest single. Booming distorted instrumentals and a reverberated vocal delivery provide the sonic backdrop for the blood-soaked music video that accompanies it.

When asked about the release, NYXKISS cited several influences and partners to bring the music and video to life. “The general basis of the song is just about being left behind when you're at your lowest point, and I didn't want my video to look like some cheesy break-up video or something,” he says. “So I just took that prompt and exaggerated it. You can hear some of my influences in tracks like this such as Killstation, Spaceman Zack, Lil Peep, Brennan Savage, Bones, and even Poorstacy. TarekTV of Lightmind Entertainment were able to help me create a cinematic video for my portfolio with this track, and it blows my mind every time I watch it.

“A Sight For Sore Eyes” is the first of several releases slated for 2022, with tracks featuring Dropout Kings and Keyawna Nikole soon to follow. NYXKISS will also be supporting King Iso and Taebo Tha Truth on June 11th in Rock Island, Illinois, so be sure to get your tickets to that if you like what you hear.
