THE OMEN MACHINE RELEASE MONUMENTAL NEW SINGLE, “Buy Me a Yacht, a Joel Osteen Carol”

Metal band and criminal enterprise The Omen Machine have unveiled their most ambitious release to date with their new single “Buy Me a Yacht, a Joel Osteen Carol.” Epic in scale and sound, the track marks a major creative leap for the band, blending heaviness with layered harmonies and even more of their usual overtly satirical overtones.

As the title implies, the song is written about slick televangelist pastor Joel Osteen, one of the richest pastors on Earth, with an estimated net worth of over $50 million.

“Joel Osteen is one of the greatest grifters of all time! The lyrics are essentially about him expressing that it is his dream to own a yacht, that he believes it to be God’s will, and asking, in a slick way, for people to buy him one” says guitarist/bassist/songwriter, Colin Busse.

The song unfolds in massive movements—layered instrumental and vocal harmonies up a massive intro that delves into fast- paced verses with relentless riffage and aggressive vocals. It builds to the first chorus with melodic harmonized leads and powerful screams before a key change and a vocally driven bridge, climaxing with a brilliantly executed guest guitar solo from former Divinex guitarist James Millerd. The song then brings you sonically right into Osteen’s megachurch, with a soothing orchestral passage complete with hymnal clean vocals before surging back to heavy melodies and following to its epic conclusion, crafting a track that feels as grand as it is aggressive.

The song features Fallujah’s Kyle Schaefer who tracked the vocals. “Kyle brought a whole new dynamic to this song and added so many cool elements that I didn’t expect,” explains Busse. “He really brought the whole thing to life.”

Accompanying the single is an awesome new music video that is both visually striking and comical. Predominantly featuring Colin Busse as Joel Osteen wielding a guitar, it manages to push the boundaries of the project. The video matches the song’s ambition with humor and plenty of surprises. The hilarity builds steadily and nearly goes off the rails before bringing everything full circle at its conclusion.

With “Buy Me a Yacht, a Joel Osteen Carol,” The Omen Machine sets a new benchmark for themselves.
