5 New Tracks You Need To Hear Today

This year’s release calendar has been steadily picking up throughout the month of March, and we couldn’t be more excited. Here’s our guide to the latest must-hear music.

1. May We Meet Again - “Lost In Time”

If you love following great bands from the very beginning, you definitely need to check out the new May We Meet Again single - this track is the group’s first ever release and it just dropped today! “Lost In Time” will appear on their debut EP that is set to come out later this spring. “We’re a metalcore band with influences in pop, pop-punk, hardcore, deathcore, and everything in between,” says drummer Tay Manesis. “We try to take bits of every genre, whatever speaks to us as musicians, and combine them into something we feel is very special. Our goal is to create meaningful music about situations we’ve been through to bring hope to those who may feel hopeless going through those same situations.” This first single shows the group’s prowess from the start; with this strong foundation as well as PR from fast-growing firm Don’t Blink Music Group, it looks like May We Meet Again are off to the races.

2. Devitalized - “X_X”

Devitalized are another group that reached us thanks to Don’t Blink. Their brand new song “X_X” also came out today, serving as a single for their upcoming debut album State Of Aggression which will be released later in the year. “We took a lot of inspiration from bands such as Lorna Shore, Knocked Loose, and Alpha Wolf for this track,” says vocalist John-Paul Ratta. “All the way through the lyrics, sound, style, and even how I would express myself in the studio, it all came together to inspire what would be come the blueprint for ‘X_X’”. Its lyrics detail Ratta’s internal monologue during a time of deep pain and darkness. “I wrote “X_X” when I was at the lowest point of my life. It’s my experience with suicide and self harm. I’m hoping it will reach those who feel lost, those who are tired, and those who want to give up. I want to empower and help those people that are in the same position.

3. Invent Animate - “Without a Whisper”

“Without A Whisper” is definitely a standout track from Invent Animate’s latest full-length album Heavener, which dropped last Friday. The song features proggy riffs and silky smooth vocals from Marcus Vik, with a music video that shows the band performing in an earthy and flowery room. Guitarist Keaton Goldwire shared that this deeply personal song is an exercise in contemplating what happens to us after we die and what heaven really means. “This is sort of what sparked the idea of ‘Heavener’. Everyone has their own idea of what ‘heaven’ is, and it comes from personal experience in your own life. I don’t think there’s a right or wrong answer, just the idea you create. Whatever that is for you.”

4. AVOID - "B0RED"

In need of an early dose of summer vibes? AVOID’s new self-shot music video for “B0RED” will do the trick. "We're very stoked to share this video for ‘B0RED’! We actually shot this video on an off day on tour about a year ago in Florida. We've never done a video like this before and it's really cool to see it come to life. Chris our guitar player shot and edited the whole thing too so it's awesome to see a fun internal project see the light of day!" says vocalist Benny Scholl. The song comes from AVOID’s recent record Cult Mentality, released via Thriller Records.

5. The Word Alive - "New Reality"

AVOID’s labelmates at Thriller Records and current tourmates in support of Pop Evil also put out a new music video in March. The Word Alive dropped “New Reality”, their first release of 2023: “Everyday we find ourselves chasing a better version of ourselves, or maybe it’s escaping the wrong path we chose. The push and pull of life has never felt more permanent than it does right now. Every day feels like a new reality, is it everything that you thought it would be?” The artwork for this track and their previous single “Nocturnal Future” have a cohesive aesthetic, suggesting the group may be building towards an album.
